Shay's Razzle Dazzle

Shay's Razzle Dazzle quilt gets to be my last client quilt of 2019... well, actually, the last client quilt of this decade!  I have to say client quilt because I'm sure I'll be working on something of my own over the next twelve days.

Here is the best photo I can get -- we have had miserable grey cold days here and an outside photo wouldn't look much better - sorry!

The pattern is a modified Razz-A-Dazzle BOM quilt (Helen Stubbings/Hugs n Kisses).  Shay added frames and sashing.  I think it looks awesome - I just love an open white background with bright happy colors!

Kate's Christmas Quilts

Kate made this super cute and cuddly flannel quilt for her daughter (who just happens to love penguins):

And then this Christmas tree quilt - yes those trees are 3-dimensional.  I shared on my Quilty Know-How Facebook Group (subscription required) how I dealt with them (it was interesting).

It was a busy weekend!  I have a short trip coming up and then one more client quilt for 2019!  Stay turned because it's going to be a beauty.

Liz - Miyako Quilt

Isn't this quilt a beauty?!!
Early Thanksgiving morning I finished this beautiful Miyako Quilt (Jinny Beyer pattern) for Liz.  I would have been finished a few days earlier, but hubby required my assistance while finishing our last room of tile!  Of course, I shared everything about the quilt - the design process, how using the fabric helps in quilting, sharing some continuous paths for background quilting within pieced blocks, and how/why I did the quilting - on my Quilty Know-How Facebook Group (subscription required - its quite affordable, at $5/month paid yearly, and jammed packed with information.

It was quite windy outside so this is the calmest photo I could manage.  Yep, the boards are still buried but once again my son was super helpful (and tall).  I just love the colors -- those stars really pop right off the quilt!

And a couple detail photos:

A few finishes...

Wow, where has November gone?  I blinked and it's already the 20th!  I started the month off teaching at Houston - which is always a blast.  My classes went great and I met a bunch of super enthusiastic students.  Then it was back to work.

I used the Elevate to stitch up this beautiful baby quilt for Kris.  The pattern is Fox Among the Birches by Sew Fresh Quilts.  The digital design I used is called foxye2e by Stitch Happy/TJ Speiser.  I think I need this quilt in my life... like perhaps king size (but that is another day... year?).

Then I squeezed in an all-over meander for Jan on this baseball jersey/t-shirt quilt.  Just enough to hold it all together for many years of love!

And then another beauty for Kris.  This one is Showering Stars by Robin Pickens.  And don't mind the outdoors photo... we're back to finishing the tile in the house and my quilt photo boards are buried behind many things... you'll have to settle for my son holding this beauty up:

And a peek at the back!

That's it for this post... more soon!

Liz - Kyoto Star

Last night I finished Liz's Kyoto Star (a Jinny Beyer pattern).  I was hoping to get pictures today, but no... you'll all have to settle for so-so indoor pics on my smaller board (yeah, the wibble in the border is only because there is no board behind the quilt).  It was a little too windy for the big boards outside by myself -- no need for a quilt kite.  But, I must say, this quilt is a beauty!

I share several videos of this quilt on my Quilty Know-How fb group (subscription required) - all the group details can be found here:  https://creativelongarmquilting.com/groups

Oh, can't forget some detail pics:

And, of course, the back:

Marlene's Some Enchanted Evening

I've just finished this beautiful embroidery quilt.  It belongs to Marlene - she did an amazing job with some of the most beautiful metallic threads - the pictures don't to it justice.  The embroidery designs are by Janet Sansom.  And just wait... Marlene plans to add tens of thousands of crystals to all those floral fabrics - it is going to be awesome!

My entire process on this quilt (as well as many others) -- from design to stitching is shared through videos and photos in my closed Facebook group - Quilty Know-How (subscription required - details here: https://creativelongarmquilting.com/groups) -- check it out, hope you'll decide to join and get in on all the Know-How goodness!

Judy's 54-40 or Fight

Here is Judy's 54-40 or Fight variation - such fun colors!  This was quilted using my Elevate - the pattern is Swoof (one of my own) and is available on Gammill's Pattern Cloud.  I stitched the pattern at a fairly large size as the piecing was pretty large scale.  I think it turned out awesome!

Joette's Hot Chocolate Club

I just finished another super cute snowman quilt for Joette.  This one is Hot Chocolate Club (pattern by Pearl Louise) - I tried to keep it similar (yet different) to the last one:

And some detail pics:

And a peek at the back:

So now it'll be on the way back to Joette to get lots of little button embellishments!

Katie/Friendship Knot QG - Dresden Bloom

Earlier this week I finished this beautiful quilt for Katie and the Friendship Knot Quilters Guild - it is their 2021 Raffle Quilt.  The pattern is Dresden Bloom by Edyta Sitar/Laundry Basket Quilts.

Some detail pics:

And a peek at the awesome back:

This was a fun quilt to work on.  If you'd like to see my design process (and how it changed) as well as the quilting, you can join my closed facebook group Quilty Know-How (subscription required).

Some finishes

Toward the end of last week, I managed to get a couple of client quilts finished - two hand guided and one on the Elevate.

First up is another Africa quilt by Jan:

And some detail pics:

Jan also had this cute nine patch topper:

And then this super cute Drunkards Path by Kris was stitched using the Elevate.  The quilting design is Circles and Lines (Cyndi Hermann):

Shay's Mountain Cabin quilt

So as I'm sitting here waiting for Hurricane Dorian to decide if he's gonna turn or not, I realized that I never shared Shay's quilt on Friday.  I managed to get it finished before the hurricane prep rush.

I know they aren't the greatest pictures, but again... hurricane prep!
