Helen's Mermaid Kisses

And the last client finish for the year... Helen's Mermaid Kisses (pattern by McKenna Ryan).  It was actually finished before Christmas, I just didn't get around to posting until today.

This was a fun one!

Karla's Lizard Quilt

I just finished this awesome lizard piece for Karla (the pattern is by BBD Creations).

I did various pebbles for the lizard scales and some leafy fills on the leaves.  I tried to remain true to life on the anthurium flowers.  I had some fun with the background - Karla wanted a vine-like effect.  If you want to see the quilting, thought process, and extras on this beauty, you can subscribe to my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/quiltyk (paid subscription).

2 beauties for Jan

I just finished these two quilts for Jan - the first is a cool Harley T-Shirt quilt. I used Flaming Shields e2e (Karen Farnsworth/Wildflower Quilting) - it worked perfectly!

The second quilt was Jan's State Birds beauty.  I used BirdsinFlight_E2E (Maureen Foster/HumbleBee Quilting) and it also work perfectly!

Kevina's Potting Shed

I've finished Kevina's Potting Shed (pattern by Claudia Dinnell).  Kevina wanted her quilt very similar to the one I did for Mel of the Bernina Sewing Center - if you don't remember you can check that out here.  I love the greens that Kevina chose -

Here are a couple of detail pics:

And, of course, a couple of peeks at the back:

Monday is the day!!

That's right, on Monday 11/9/2020 the second Virtual Quilt Show begins -- it runs through Sunday 11/15/2020.  If you haven't already checked it out, you should... and don't delay - the classes look awesome -- there are some live and some prerecorded!  I personally like the prerecorded because you can rewind and rewatch as many times as necessary during the week of the show!  There is also a forum as well as a 30 minute live Q&A for each prerecorded class so you still get some personal attention and all your questions answered.

I'm once again thrilled and honored to be included in this fabulous line up of educators.  Here's some info on my classes:

Inkedoodle: Feather - omg such a fun class!!

The Creative Process - have you ever wanted to design your own quilt??  Not like pieced blocks, but lines, shapes, and elements?  If so, this class is definitely for you - this is how I design all my quilts!

And then I have Fast Forward Feathers (sorry no cute video on this one):

So... go check out the classes - I'm sure you'll find something that interests you!

More wool beauties from Jan!

I've recently finished two more wool beauties for Jan.  She makes the most beautiful quilts out of vintage wool -- and she hand pieces too!

First is her leaves quilt:

Jan wanted a few ghost leaves scattered into the mix.  I'm pretty sure I added 9... my hubby added his opinion that I needed more... IDK, I'm happy with how it turned out, even if there are only 9 leaves!  Here are a few detail pics:

Details on this beauty: hand pieced and appliqued vintage wool by Jan, leaves, loopies and a 1/2" piano key border all hand guided.

Next is a quilt Jan has been working on for some time now.  I love that she shares little pieces of her work every time she drops a quilt.  It's like I get to see them grow up!

I know it isn't the greatest photo, but the sun was just not cooperating and I needed to get the pic!  I have several detail pics - I tried to get them of all areas:

And just a few of the blocks:

Details on this beauty:  Hand pieced and appliqued by Jan.  Using cottons and vintage wools.  Every flower has a corresponding name with matching frame around the border of the quilt.  I did hand guided free motion quilting - yes, every block has a different background fill and there are some fun elements in the sashings!

Happy Stitches!
Karen

Beth's Beauties

I've just finished these three beauties for Beth - all three are super cuteness and were perfect for E2E!

First is Country Christmas (pattern by Corey Yoder).
On this very festival quilt Beth chose on of my digital designs: FFfeathers_curl18_clamshell_km (available for purchase in ALL formats here among many others)  I think the design was perfect!

I have to admit on this beautiful quilt I made a big mistake... yep like a rookie mistake -- but it goes to show you it can happen!  I ripped the quilt!!  Can you believe it?  I was so angry with myself - it absolutely drives me nuts when things go wrong... but, I do share how I fixed it in my Quilty Know-How FB Group I have step-by-step detailed photos - this group is an affordable yearly subscription ($5/month) so check out the link and see if it is something that might interest you!  There is so much info in the group I'm sure there's something there for you.

Next was a baby quilt Beth made using a layer cake - again super cute!  She chose foxye2e by Stitch Happy/TJ Spieser (another cute pattern I've used several times) - again perfect for this baby gift.

And the last one is Bumble Bee Blossoms (pattern by Krista Moser) - OMG I think I need to make this quilt - such bright colors and all that crisp white background!  Beth chose a fun bee pattern called Gardenbees_2_E2E by Maureen Foster and again it was a perfect compliment to the quilt top!

Kris - Crumbs quilt

I've just finished this super cute quilt for Kris.  The pattern is Crumbs by Me and My Sister Designs.  First I'll show you the finished beauty then I'll tell you all about it!

I used one of my digital designs called Swoof -- available in ALL formats here and also in gqp format here.

Now on to the story... according to Kris this quilt was almost destined for the garbage... almost.  She is one of my awesome regular clients so she contacted me and asked if it was fixable.  It most certainly was - there was just a wee bit of wonky in the borders -- totally fixable!

The top border was 59" and the bottom border was 57 3/8" while both sides were 74 5/8.  All I needed to do was shrink up that top border.  I share a 20 minute video in my Quilty Know-How group (paid subscription) on how to fix it.

So don't even think your quilt is so wonky it can never be quilted.  I have fixed many almost trash can quilts into beautiful pieces!!

Some more E2E finishes

My Elevate has been busy busy stitching away.  I've recently finished this beauty for Barb.  She pieced a beautiful log cabin quilt.  I used one of my designs, KM_Flourish02_e2e, available on Gammill's Patterncloud.

And a couple of detail pics:

I also finished this awesome quilt for Joan.  The pattern was Jennifer (from 3 Times the Charm Book 2 by Me & My Sister Designs).  I used 2682_Modern_Mayhem as the stitch design.
